Mission Statement

The mission and intention of Bithiah’s Family Services is to serve transitional aged and system-impacted youth by providing an intensive and trauma-informed housing program. Bithiah’s House commits to being equitable and restorative while maintaining healthy boundaries with clear and reasonable expectations. The program’s design and purpose is to prepare each resident for independence while they are residents of Bithiah’s House. Residency within the program is voluntary and subject to the conditions of the program agreement. While providing housing first, this program provides opportunities for self-improvement through various classes, programs, mentorship, counseling, therapeutic services, partnerships, and case management. It is imperative to understand that Bithiah’s House is unable to provide a higher level of care needed for those experiencing active suicidal ideation, self-harm practices, and or who are a danger to themselves. It is part of the resident agreement to utilize every opportunity to improve and elevate personal station, mental health, education, and skills to become a healthy community member.

Each resident is responsible for completing 40 hours a week of full-time programming, consisting of therapy, case management, work, school, volunteer opportunities, or a combination of these services. As a clean and sober program, residents will be required to undergo drug testing, abide by a curfew, and do daily chores to maintain a healthy living environment. To be ready to launch into independence, ALL residents are required to save 30% of their income or pay $350 a month into an approved and monitored savings account. This is with the mindset of acquiring healthy financial literacy and budgeting skills to provide for themselves fully within their time at Bithiah’s. It is the goal of Bithiah’s House to break generational cycles of trauma and have a direct impact on the unhoused population of system-impacted youth.
